Club Policies

1. Playing Time
Coaches will make every attempt to play each player equally if the player has met all attendance, attitude and parent requirements through 8th grade.
Exceptions are:
    A. Lack of attendance at practices
    B. Sub-par attitude
    C. Problem with a parent
If a player has attendance and/or attitude problems and/or parent problems, the coach should explain why she is not receiving equal playing time
.
After 8th grade, all players much play in every competition, how she does not have to play equal time.

2. Communication
There should be open lines of communication from coach to player, player to coach, player to parent, parent to play and parent to coach, coach to parent.

iLax program rule:  A player must approach the coach on an area of concern before the parent contacts the coach.  We encourage personal growth and development in each athlete.  If the player and coach can not come to a satisfactory conclusion for both parties.  The parent may contact the coach to set  up an in person meeting.  In that meeting the Director of the club will be present.

Parents may contact the coach directly in emergency situations.

All members of the team will have the coaches email and phone numbers.

Communication is a major key to success!

3. Attendance
    a. As a member of iLAX we expect full commitment.  Lack of attendance shows lack of respect.
    b. Players should make every attempt to be at all team practices, games, events, socials...

    c. The player (not the parent, unless an emergency) must contact the coach directly at least 24 hours prior to missing a team function.
    d. A valid reason must be given for missing team functions.
     e. Lack of attendance will affect playing time.
     f. If lack of attendance is habitual, the players status with iLAX will be reviewed for possible dismissal.

4. Counseling Out/Cutting
Please not that this is a last resort option and all other disciplinary actions must be exhausted before getting to this point.
    a. Consistent lack of attendance.
    b. Consistent poor attitude.
    c. Poor Skill Level.

2. How to Counsel Out
    a. The Coach will meet with the Directors of iLAX before any player is asked to leave.  The player and parent will be addressed and explain the issues.
